   We utilize the state-of-the-art 3D design software to design all plush toys. The 3D design technology can improve the design efficiency, shorten the design period and make communication easy. The software includes EasyToy, PatterImage and Presto, which are developed by our company.


    EasyToy is used for 3D modeling. It uses a
sketch-based modeling method and a 3D painting
method. The user interface is very friendly, and
operations are very simple. A complex 3D model can
be created quickly by combining several simple
operations. Compared with general 3D systems,
EasyToy is easy-to-learn and easy-to-use. To design a plush toy, the designer
will create a 3D model and send it to the client to confirm the shape of the toy.
Thus, the communication will be very easy, and the shape will meet what the
client invisioned.
    PatternImage is used for designing 2D patterns of
a plush toy. Based on a 3D model, the first step is to
draw seam lines on the 3D surface, and a surface is
divided into several 3D patches, then, the 3D patches
are expanded into a plane to obtain 2D patterns. The

resulted patterns have high accuracy. Therefore, the number of trial of sewing

a physical toy will be reduced. This will shorten the design period, save cloth

materials and reduce the cost of labour.



   Presto is used for estimating the cost of a plush
toy. Based on 2D patterns, the usage of fabric and
stuffed materials can be calculated automatically.
Furthermore, the cost of sewing time can also be
estimated. Thus, we can estimate the cost of manufacturing a plush toy.
